Southland rolls out mobile sports betting

Southland Casino in West Memphis has become the first in Arkansas to provide mobile sports betting since the Racing Commission approved a regulation permitting sports betting outside casino grounds. (At this time, it is not an app, as previously stated, but rather a browser-based application.) On a press release on Saturday, Southland reported that Betly online sportsbook is now available on PC and Mac browsers at www.southland.betly.com but not on mobile phones. According to the company, apps for Android and Apple phones will be available soon. The Betly technology is already in use in the Southland casino's kiosks. To put bets, bettors must have cash on deposit. Southland is enticing new customers by offering a $250 bonus on first bets. Sports covered vary from motor racing to MMA, with more traditional ball sports in between. Delaware North, which owns Southland, created the betting app in collaboration with Gamewise, a Belgian partner. The two casinos in Arkansas, Saracen in Pine Bluff and Oaklawn in Hot Springs, also allow on-site sports betting and work on mobile applications. Oaklawn already has a smartphone app for horse racing pari-mutuel wagering.
